General information
Applications for scholarships at Vadstena-Akademien for the summer of 2021 are now open . We offer several different scholarships. They are listed below along with how to apply. In summer 2021 we are planning to produce "Zebran" by Tebogo Monnakgotla and Kerstin Perski and "Il colore fa la regina" by Carlo Francesco Pollarolo (1653-1723) and Matteo Noris (1640-1714)

Costume assistants
31 May - 10 July (Vadstena Old Theatre)

Description
As a costume assistant in 2021 you will produce the costumes for "Zebran" or "Il colore fa la regina" under the guidance of our head of costume, Sanna Holmqvist. One of the costume assistants will stay throughout the performance period to work with maintenance of the costumes. As an applicant you are expected to have documented relevant experience from studies or work within the area. Born 1986 or later.

Wig and make-up assistants
31 May – 22 July (Vadstena Old Theatre)

Description
As a wig and make-up assistant you will practice closely with your mentor, our wig and make-up designer, to produce the wigs and make-up for "Il colore fa la regina". During the performances you will be responsible for overall maintenance as well as assisting the performers. As an applicant you are expected to have documented relevant experience from studies or work within the area. Born 1986 or later.

Stage assistant

Description
As a stage assistant you will together with your mentor develop and produce the stage set, props and other things needed and other tasks necessary to produce the stage set for "Zebran". and "Il Colore fa la regina". Stage assistants also have responsibilities during performances, in charge of safety, routines and overall maintenance, under the guidance of the stage manager. As an applicant for this scholarship, you are expected to have documented relevant experience from studies and work within the area. Born 1986 or later.

Lighting assistant
31 May– 22 July (Vadstena Old Theatre)
Description
As a lighting assistant you practice closely with your mentor, the lighting designer, to design and produce the lighting for "Il colore fa la regina". During the performances you are also expected to operate the stage lights. As an applicant for this scholarship, you are expected to have documented relevant experience from studies and work within the area. Born 1986 or later.

Stage director's assistant
7 June – 10 July (Vadstena Old Theatre)

Description
As a stage director’s assistant you practice closely with your mentor, the stage director. You will assist the stage director in day to day tasks, such as the schedule, take notes during rehearsals, and coordinate everything involved in the production. In short, you will be the right hand to the stage director. The scholarship offers an interesting mixture of practical and artistic aspects, allowing you to get a deep understanding of a stage director’s work. As an applicant for this scholarship, you are expected to have documented relevant experience from studies and work within the area. Born 1986 or later.

Orchestra at Vadstena Castle
9 July - 11 August

Description
Modern instruments. As a member of the orchestra you will play together with your mentor, the conductor Emil Eliasson on the music of "Zebran". Moreover you will take part in one or two additional concerts given at Vadstena. Further information concerning these concerts will be provided later on. We are looking for the following instrumentalists:

Description
Period instruments a=415Hz As a member of the orchestra you will play together with your mentor, the conductor Mariangiola Martello on the music of "Il colore fa la regina". Moreover you will take part in one or two additional concerts given at Vadstena. Further information concerning these concerts will be provided later on. We are looking for the following instrumentalists:

Project assistant/foyer
28 June - 17 Aug

Description
As a project assistant you will play an important part for the productions and performances as well as for the audiences. You will interact with the entire production team and your closest mentor will be the sales and foyer manager. Your tasks will vary from day to day, and will include: marketing activities, setting up and maintenance of the foyer, sales and customer service before, during and after performances, and overall support. You have an interest in service and the ability to take your own initiatives and you are a responsible person. It is a merit if you have a driving license or have experience from cafés/sales and that you perform well under pressure.
